Visual and Audio Artist
Painting
After leaving Art College I became a full-time freelance artist and held several solo exhibitions selling paintings worldwide.
Solo exhibitions include: The Barbican Centre, The Mermaid Theatre, The Royal Exchange Manchester and the Royal Philharmonic Liverpool.
Group exhibitions include: Lancashire Artists, The Manchester Academy, Merseyside Artists and The Laing Collection.
Digital Art
With the advent of digital I helped to run a design company working mainly in the Arts and we became known for our innovative image creation. Our clients were Arts organisations, creative software companies such as Adobe, theatres, contemporary dance companies such as Motionhouse, fashion brands like Red or Dead and, in the music business MUTE Records, EMI, Arista and Hard Hands.
My visual work is centred on the atmospheric distortion of time and space. On ambiguity, abstraction and experimentation in the creation of multi-dimensional filmic universes, demonstrating that there may be more to the world than most people might imagine.
My work has been screened at many film festivals such as New York, Paris, Brussels, St Petersburg, Berlin and Zurich.
And at special events at the likes of Tate Britain, Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art New York, BBC Electric Proms and Coventry Cathedral.
Music – BIG RED FOX
Atmospheric rhythmic electronica, up or downtempo chilled digital dance and alternative ambience.
I have written and self-published four books utilising my own photographs – available on my Books website. The books are based on an extended family of friendly foxes who live not far from me and they are written to encourage people to appreciate these caring, intelligent, family-based animals.
It’s a huge privilege to have the trust and companionship of animals that live in the wild. I visit their world nearly every day, and when I do, I leave society behind and become connected to the planet in a very fundamental way. In Fox World, I am able to re-energise and clear my thoughts.
